IN CHARACTER rules:
This list of rules will include some rules on how to make a good character and some general rules about how to behave in an in character setting.
Creating a character:
1. Please make sure your character operates within the lore of world of warcraft. Both in age and in family history all such things. (Also please don’t make them be some long lost brother of a powerful NPC, it is seriously not needed)
2. All names of characters need to be RP friendly, which means the actual name of your character in game needs to have a viable name within the game.
3. We do not want any god like character, no one is invincible, no one has powers so far beyond everyone else that they do not have weaknesses.
4. Age, keep in mind if you have a character that is young for their race they will not be as strong within their class or as wise in life as characters old for their race who has been through a lot in life and has had a lot of life experences.
5. Try to make your character interesting, this doesn’t mean he or she has to have epic powers or skill, actually giving a character an interesting personality quirk or a good variety of say a scar or something with a good story can be as important as well. Interesting characters does not = over the top powerful. Those over the top powerful ones can be boring ones as well.
Attending and signing up for events:
1. When signing up for an event, if you sign as attending then you are expected to be at the meeting place at least 10 minutes before the start of the event. And if you’re not sure if you can attend sign as tentative.
2. If you are signed for an event as attending and somehow are unable to attend you are expected to at some point before the event, (at least an hour before) let one of the officers attending that event know about it, either on skype, on their e-mail or even on the forums. Also if something does happen right before the event try to get a word out if even just on skype or in the chat box on the forums.
(It would be nice that even if signed as tentative if you can’t attend you let us know, but it’s not required)
In character behavior:
1. When going to a guild event everyone is expected to wear a guild tabard unless otherwise is stated in the event description.
2. When in character with the guild everyone is expected to adress each other with the rank. Now with ranks that only have one person attached to them that rank name is all you need to say. When adressing people with ranks consisting of multiple members their rank followed by their character name is acceptable.
3. Also show respect toward the higher ranking members in the guild, disrespect will not be tolerated in the least. Also remember to respect others of the same or lower rank as you.
4. When an officer is speaking no one should be interrupting until they are done or unless they adress you if you calmly have raised your hand in the air.
5. Once an officer is done speaking lower ranking members may ask permission to speak. ”Permission to speak Luminary?” (or whichever rank the member who was speaking had.)
